Did everybody else have this problem because whenever I would get into the game after maybe idk 5 minutes the game would crash thats not even enough time to create a team not to mention play a full game in backyard basketball. Smart A 2 points. Magman 0 point. J 1 point. The game works pretty well. It is a bundle that comes with football, but I only used the basketball game and I've been fine on season mode and single games.
I'm using WinCDEmu to run it, and used the compact installation if that helps. DrDude 2 points. This game works pretty well if you just run it from the game file, not with Scummvm or dosbox. Yntec 2 points. Don't waste your time! This game seems to be broken. Can not start a season mode game and no players appear on the court when i do single player.

A game focused toward kids, Backyard Basketball will keep your child entertained as a young sports fan for hours. Play with your favorite teams as NBA legends when they were kids. Right off the bat you get access to most of the game and are able to play with various NBA legends as cartoon kids as basketball stars. It won't matter if you are a casual fan or a hardcore fan - you will probably enjoy this game if you are into basketball at all since it is pretty addictive to play.
Awesome game. It said it was compatable with Mac and it isn't. Total rip off. That's Not Right! Don't get me wrong, this game is pretty fun. At first. When you get used to the controls that'll take 1 minute , the game loses interest. You can't lose. I don't think I've ever seen a basketball game that has ended to 2. If there has been, I know one team that's pitiful. You can draft the worst players and still win by points.
The game starts by picking your team and making your coach name. Then, you can pick through an average amount of players for your team. It doesn't matter what their stats are. You'll still be undefeaten after the season. Then, you play the game. Why is this game so easy? But, the only thing keeping you from a game is the fouls. They call an unbelievable amount of fouls. Can you move without getting a penalty? But, after you turn the fouls off, it's not fun.
But, it's not fun with fouls, either. That's a problem. If this game was harder, you'd have a great game. But, it's not hard, so it's not fun. It's fun to have KG on your team scoring dunks from half-court. You can substitute when a quarter gets over, but if you do it, the commentary doesn't pick a Player of the Game. That's a good thing about the game. Who will get the Player of the Game? The best player doesn't get the prize, though? It's usually the amateur player that scores 2 points.
Oh, well. There's NBA Street for a good power-uppy not real basketball game. There's NBA Jam for big-headed weirdos playing basketball. And, you can't abandon the NBA Live series for good ol' regular basketball. I'll give Backyard Basketball an average 3 out of 5. Like many games in the "Backyard" series this is very enjoyable but flawed.
The main problem is the stats. The list of top ten players doesn't track blocks. Rebounding is so difficult that your team and players will never appear in the top ten.
The end-of-season awards for top player on team and in the league don't work at all. And please see the reviewer below, of all the Backyard games, this appears to require the most computer power. If your computer is not very powerful, the game will play in slow motion--very frustrating. Finally, there are only two pro players; hopefully, future versions will include more.
